Michael Kyriacou and Mark Oakley at Elan Hairdressing believe in a commitment to excellence. Located at 589 Burwood Road in Hawthorn, their hairdressing business is reflective of their overseas experience and their own funky sense of style. They consider themselves progressive, but not over the top.

Established in 1995 Elan Hairdressing specialises in the American hair lengthening system, which is unique to the Hawthorn area.

Both Michael and Mark have been internationally trained and worked in Europe for five years before establishing their business. Michael has worked with Goldwell, Wella and Schwartzkopf as a colour technician, so he specialises in colouring services. They are both members of the HBIA (Hair and Beauty Institute of Australia).

Clients are treated to a range of coffees and chocolates and have a choice of the latest magazines to read and get ideas from. "It's a really personalised service that we offer, like a boutique salon. It's all about the clients comfort rather than getting in as many people as we can," says Michael.

Elan hairdressers listen to their clients to ensure they are happy with the result. "We go out of our way to give them what they want or what's best for them."

Elan Hairdressing is open Tuesday to Saturday, with late nights on Thursday and Friday. Bookings are generally required especially for after hour appointments and weekends.
